I just bought255 60 R14 tires and I was wondering if I can fit them underneath my 1975 Ford Maverick without rolling the fenders. They fit on my stock rims just wondering if they will rub because I don't want to damage the car
A 255 anything is not gonna fit on stock Maverick rims. On a wheel with the right width and back-spacing, they will fit on the rear (not the front) without rolling the lip.
Okay, I realized today you guys were right. They dont fit haha. Do you guys have any suggestions on good sized 15's I want them to be wide, but like I said before, not damage the car. Just on the rear though
I have 255 60 15 on the rear of my 74 Maverick and had to roll the lip. The wheels have 3.75" backspacing (see http://wheelsandtires.fordmaverick.net/wheels_detailed_record_2.php?entry_id=21) http://mmb.maverick.to/attachment.php?attachmentid=54032&d=1330637898 Also the chart http://mmb.maverick.to/wheelsandtires.php can be helpfull in determining tire and wheel sizes.
A 245/60-15 will fit with a 15x7" wheel that has a 3-3/4" to 4" backspace, with no other modifications.
