very true...one side of my car is a repop and i can tell the differences between them and i worked on them as hard as i could to make them alike..but still not as close as i would have liked. 2 NOS ones would be the way to go. but might break the bank.

Had to see the axle differences with my own 2 eyes, since yesterday was the first I had heard of that...I was only aware of the small bearing/big bearing differences. As per the norm, you guys were correct, so the kids new axles aren't going to do us any good right now.
Decisions, decisions! Weld on the correct ends, turn down the bearing surfaces on the new axles to accept 6 cyl bearings, overdraw my account and get the housing I pulled the axles from, or just leave it as is for now...
Thanks for the insight guys!! I appreciate it greatly!!

How much for the rest of the housing? Can't be worth much since somebody already robbed the axles out of it. :D

Probably about $70-$80...biggest problem is that they won't allow kids in there, and I absolutely hate asking someone to watch my son so I can go play, just doesn't seem very fair, especially when he would want to go if he knew where I was going!

That's really cheap. I would go get it.

I had a productive day! I swapped out my I6 to V8 throttle cable, changed out my side vent control cable, re-painted the top of my dash to a satin black, changed out my heater core and hoses, dropped the tranny to install on the engine block so I can install them together. Then I had to go do yard work.

Pushed the car out of the garage and started grinding the paint off the roof.

Putting my Grabbet rear spoiler on. Missing 1 retainer. Making 1 as an experiment out of 3/4 PVC and a cap. Only cost .58 to try for the cap.

edit: 3/4 PVC is too small. I'm sure this will work, but it will require larger diameter PVC.

Tried to get my engine to start. Car is new to me and had been sitting for a good length of time. Yesterday I hung and aligned the doors. Today I went through the engine. Found out that power was running through the coil, but when I connected the wire from the distributor, power was gone. Good news is engine isn't seized and does turn over, problem is between the coil and engine. Going tomorrow to get parts for the distributor.

On a side note, yesterday while hanging and aligning the doors, I discovered a black widow spider underneath my dash on the passengers side. I still haven't figured out what to do with her.

Sounds like the points are out of adjustment, welded together, or the rubbing block is gone.

Agree on the points not firing the coil and try either or brake cleaner on the widow - just back up real quick when you piss her off

Wrapped up getting the front end put back together and took it for a drive. Now that the frt sheet metal is solid and fitted pretty good, time to start on the rear end beginning with the quarters and fitting the spoiler.
