    hi,

I have an offer to buy a 74er grabber.
    great car, but ..
I did not like the large bumpers.

it is easily possible to replace them in the small?

Which models (year, type, etc.) exactly?
    I need more parts? what?
Do I have to change the body in white? (painting, welding?)

is after the conversion rust or metal visible, which was obscured by the large bumpers or is it all painted and nice?

    thanks for all the tips

    best
    tom

The 70-72 bumpers fit 1:1 without further modifications?

Do I have to change the body in white? (painting, welding?)

Take a look here, all the information you need for the swap. The only painting you would need to do would be touching up where the fender would need modified and the sheet metal that you would add to the car.

There is also the option of bumper-tuck with the large bumpers. Not the same appearance as the small bumpers, but with less bumper projection, it is not as bad, less work, (in my view), and will cost you less in shipping anything overseas.

Between 2007-2009 I had a lot of items sent from the United States to Deutschland for both my 2004 Mach I and 1990 Cherokee. Spent some serious $$$ and dealing with German Customs was no fun whatsoever...

I'd save you the pain in considering the bumper-tuck option.

I'm mainly aware of the notches in the early fenders with tabs that accept the gravel shield - I know that there are write ups on the forum for notching the later fenders or perhaps just the gravel shield :)

I tucked the front bumper on my '74. I put a '73 bumper on the rear.
