Hi!!, does anyone knows if the 71 Maverick Grabber Sport Side Mirrors are exactly the same as the Sport Side Mirrors on the 71-73 Mustang?

The head of the mirror is the same, its the base that changed. So to answer your question, No, they are different.

The mirror buckets may be the same though if you can find the correct angled bases for the Maverick doors :)

The mirror bases are exclusive for the Maverick/Comet or came in other Ford cars?

It's a Maverick Only mirror base.

I see Ford mirrors on Ebay from time to time where the bases are cracked or the heads are dented - if the low price reflectes the damage, I might pick them up - makes for a nice box of spare parts :)

The mirror heads are all the same on the driver's side with the cable style adjusting. The cable adjusting passenger's side mirrors heads are different than the passenger's side manual adjusting mirror head. You can't take a cable adjusting passenger mirror head and mount it on a non-adjustable passenger's mirror pedestal because the head won't fit the pedestal. Even if you drilled a hole for the cable it still will not fit the pedestal. The Ranchero, Mustang, Pinto, Cougar, Maverick/Comet ect...all had a different pedestals.

The passenger side heads are in reproduction, you will still need the Maverick/Comet pedestal to mount to it.. You can also purchase a reproduction remote drivers sport mirror, it will however require some disassembly in order to install the Maverick/Comet specific pedestal....

I have a set of mirrors ( orginal 71 grabber mirrors )that came off of a yellow grabber.the adjusting knob was broken off and I tried to drill out the broken stem but I drilled a hole through the bottom of the stem holder. other than that the mirrors are in good condition with only minor scratches.i have all of the gaskets $ 90.00 and I will pay shipping.

I see that Scranton has a Mustang and not a Maverick - what I think is that he found a set of Maverick mirrors and just wanted to know if they would bolt to his Mustang :)

Oh no!! Hahaha I'm looking for Maverick mirrors for a Maverick of someone else. I find the mirrors but now I need the gaskets between the mirror and the door. Anyone know if they are the same as the 71-73 Mustang? Are the same gasket for both sides?

Gaskets are also unique to the Maverick/Comet pedestal. Autokrafters sells some reproduction rubber gaskets that fit the correct base.
