I am trying to find a set of rims for Maverick like the ones I had on my 1972 Gran Torino back in 1989 I don't have any pictures to show . The description of the wheel is as follow solid chrome wheel with a center cap that had a hole in it might have been for wire spokes. I have seen these only once before on a 1972 chevrolet car any body have and idea what make they might have been or photos

Those were aftermarket wheels. Personally, I don't see why anyone wanted them, but to each his own. Doubtful you'll find any now that aren't rusty basket cases.

Nope, but there were more than one mfg. They seemed to be popular around here in the late 70's/early 80's and i recall most if not all ended up missing the wire spoke hubcaps.

pick up any low rider mag, and flip thru all the advertiser's. you will find them.
if you lived here in tucson, you can pick them up in a yard sale, swap meet, some one's left for dead impala, an old lady's back yard, and sometimes,,,, in back of autozone.

I had a set of those on my 1968 Galaxie. The car was only driven in the summer...and these wheels still would get rusty. Plus....one would have to remove both baskets in order to clean the wheels.
