Looking for a set of rims to fit a 5 lug 1973 Comet. Have heard that 98-02 crown vic 16x7's work, is that the only years or do earlier crown vics work. Also if anyone knows another 15"-16" steel rim set up that will work for front and rear let me know. I have heard that Ranger rims work as well, so if someone can comfirm that. I have done a lot of researching on here and we need to put together a comprehensive list of factory stock rims that will fit most 5 lug (Ok......and 4 lug) Mav's and Comets. One more question is if older Mustangs/Cougar 15" rims will fit, years?

But to know if the wheel is going to fit you need to know, or measure the backspace/offset. most of us can get away with 4.25-4.5" of maximum backspace. I have 92 crown vic wheels on my maverick they're 15x6.5 with 4" of backspacing.
