I got a deal on some 17x9 cobra R wheels and just wanted to make sure they would fit. I know I will have to run spacers but what size? Also does anybody else run cobra R's if so pictures? Also for now I have drum brakes if that makes a difference.

What kind of backspacing/offset would I need?

Just want to make sure they will work before I get them.

Maximum backspace that most of us can get away with is 4.5" , I believe cobra wheels have 24mm+ offset.

so on a 9" wheel what would be 5.5" backspace, with a 1" spacer it would get you to 4.5 backspace.
1.25" spacer would get you 4.25" backspace to be on the safe side.
1.5" Spacer would get you 4.00" backspace.

This thread has a lot on info for which spacers to use:

If I were you I'd buy the 17x9 wheels first, then use some scrap tube to figure out what size spaces you will need. Since these cars are not 100% identical, some will need different sizes.
