19.3 gal.gas tank

    if it is true the 76' gas tank holds 19.3 gals. then that is what i installed in my grabber.yesterday..:bananaman :bananaman :bananaman had no problems at all. bolted in like it was made for it. someone said something about the rear pan but it wasn't an issue.
    if someone would like to see a pic., i can take one...frank...

    mav. guy, i put it in the 73'. i will take a pic. tomorrow morning before i take it to see what is wrong with the tranny...frank...:( :(

    Thanks for the pics, that is good news about the 19.5 gallon tank.
    I will have to keep that in mind for the 74'.

    Do you have any idea if this would work on a 71' or 72' stlye Maverick?

    It should work, as the 73 is not very different from the 71-72s. The gas tanks are the same I believe. That swap looks great! I'll definitly keep it in mind for my 73.

    73 LDO, 72 Sprint, 70 Grabber.
    Nope, not a 70. The 70 had a drop in fuel tank, while the 71-77s had the one under the trunk floor held up by metal bands. I wonder if any Mustang drop in fuel tanks or fuel cells would fit right in the 70 Mavs? Does anyone know if they are the same size?

    Hey Tod, measure the mounting flange on your 70. I just bought a Mustang tank to convert my Comet GT over. This will help determine if its doable.
