Hello, I recently aquired some 1970 Mercury Bobcat bucket seats and want to know what they are worth?. Also what other vehicles they will fit into?. If they are valueable I will sell them if not I will clean them up and try to make them fit into my 1970 C10. Here are some pics.
Ah I wish I would have taking a pic of ther back. I could always go back and check I guess. I do remember seeing a bobcat emblem though. I am more of a GM guy but was walking through the junkyard and thought hmm those high backs sure would look like chevy truck low backs if they were chopped down. So I grabbed them. Here is the car's vin: 8T24Y519187
I don't want to be the guy that brings this up but here it goes. There is no such thing as a 70 bobcat, they were first produced in Canada in 74 and then in the US and Canada from 75 to 80. The Vin you provided says it is a 78. So there it is, Just sayin.
Ah thanks I am now enlightened. So the junkyard labelled it wrong. Anyways so they are not worth the $300 I was hoping for I can still use them in my truck with some work.
I believe the Pinto/Bobcat seats are narrower than the Maverick/Comet/Mustang/Cougar seats. Might be a good selling point for a street rod with limited space
