Here’s an update on Bevo, the 75 Maverick. Car arrived with significant overspray over entire body and windows. It took a day plus to remove all and get him looking much better. Next, hood was in serious need of adjustment. It was making a horrible noise on opening as the hood was too close to cowl. Adjustment went well. The trunk was a bit of a mess so I pulled all old cover out, cleaned, used Por 15, put down heat/sound barrier and ordered a trunk mat. Looks fine for now. I do need a jack to lock down spare tire. The fuel tank sending unit was not sending signal to gauge, so, back to Rockauto. Before I could replace sending unit, TRANSMISSION gave up! Forgot to mention I knew it was in trouble as fluid was brown and smelled burnt, when I received car. C4 was rebuilt by some great guys in Arkadelphia. They replaced my sending unit and basically rebuilt brakes, while there. Couldn’t be happier with their work! Replaced a few engine compartment components, electrically, started cleaning underside of hood, made a bumper rubber to match the others and moved on to interior. Pulled the seats, carpet, back panels and kick panels. Put down heat/sound barrier and decided I’d better check out all dash components before proceeding further. Had to replace printed circuit board and light switch. I am working on radio and speaker. I want to thank everyone for the guidance on pulling the dash!!! The discussion threads helped tremendously! I’ll try to keep all updated as I progress. Photos when Bevo looks handsome once again.

1975 Maverick finished at paint shop. Now on to figuring out how to get rid of the old air cleaner and keep vacuum. New paint.JPG
