Hi guys, we have a 1976 Chevy Nova 4-Door that we inherited a while back. It has just under 82K original miles, which we know to be true because the only owner prior to us was my Great Uncle. Its got a 305 and TH350 trans, ps, ac, power disc brakes, and even cloth seats. It runs great and is very reliable, as we drove it all the way from Texas to North Carolina with no problems. Its a nice car, but we have no use for it so does anyone know how much we should ask for it? This generation Nova seems rarer than even the Maverick so I don't see much on them. Heres some pics of it
probadly about the same as a 76 4door maverick, it does look like a nice car, to bad it is not the police package as I understand it had a lot of performance upgrades
Yeah, I think the police package had the 350 and some other things. But surprisingly this little Nova moves pretty good with the stock 305. I think just a 4 barrell, headers, and removal of the emissions junk would help it out alot. Its still no match for the Maverick tho.
Too bad it's not a 2-door, that body style make pretty cool street machines, and the advantage of already having a V-8. don't know about a specific value, but in selling it, focus on the condition, low milage and one owner.....and the V-8.....maybe mention it's potential as a "sleeper" to attract the performance crowd. Clean, low milage cars that haven't been messed with can bring pretty decent prices
My value bet would be around $1k... They arent very desirable, one thing you have to remember is rareness doesn't always mean disirablity.... more then likely who ever buys it will put some 26's on it and hydrolauics(sp)....
Like Mavericks, the Nova's were very rust prone. Not many have survived unless they were well cared for two doors. I'd say $1500-$2000 tops, if you find somebody that wants it....
Yeah i figured the hard part is to find somebody that wants it. They dont seem very desireable at all unfortunately. Its a shame tho cause it is in very good condition. If we were to keep it id probably help my little brother make it into his little hot rod like my maverick is to me.
clean car, not dogging it because I love a good nova, especially if it's got some YENKO on it. 76 was about the worst year for the nova styling and performance wise, BUT like someone said the lowrider-spinner crowd is loving the odd cars. I would say 1500-2k would be fair. If I owned it I would have a hard time selling it just because it is sorta cool and old. Just beat the bag out of it and see how long it lasts, nothing to lose it's a chevy
do you know why mexico didn't want anything to do with nova's because NOVA means NO GO in spanish lol
I havent been to a nova board yet. So far all I've done is ask ya'll's opinions and looked up some for sale for comparison.
