I'm assuming not from the search. I don't know the torque numbers however. I do know that my ex grandfather in law had identical trucks other than one being a 5.4 and one being a 4.6... same options and year model and I couldn't tell a difference in them just by seat of the pants.
Cool, I might be getting one with a 4.6 and was just wanting to see if i should wait to find a 5.4 instead.
Well give me your opinion. 1998 extended cab 4x4 4.6 with 170,000 miles new tranny new radiator had a blown head gasket so its had a valve job and new gaskets installed Leather interior Truck looks great no rust $6000.00
ive got a '98 F150 Ext Cab 4x4 4.6 5sp truck (the same one i drove the last time we met up), and it has NO torque what-so-ever. with a maverick on my car trailer it has to spin to about 3500-4000 rpm's before it has enough momentum to pull itself with the loaded trailer. IMHO, you'd be happier with a 5.4 if u plan to tow anything with it
I didn't have a problem pulling stuff with the 4.6 truck, but I never pulled a car with it either... Im sure you would be more happy with the 5.4 if your pulling all the time. But, like I said... if its just a driver, and good enough deal... I wouldnt turn it down for sure
