ok i took my car to the local 1/8th mile last night and i ran it for the first time on this current setup

    1.864 60 ft
    5.233 330ft
    7.501 594ft

    8.000 1/8th mile

    88.58 1/8th mph

that was leaving at 6500 rpm ( stock rev limiter ) and 26 psi boost (i am still running 93 octane gas) and shifting it on the floor , it was hitting the rev limiter in 3rd about 50-70 ft before the line

as some of you know my car is a 73 grabber with a 88 turbo coupe 2.3 all stock cam head and bottom end with a stinger performance header holset he351cw turbo (04-07 cummins dodge), 3" intercooler piping, ford powerstroke intercooler cut down to 41"x18?, 5.0 mustang throttle body home made upper intake to rotate to the front and a home ported lower intake, as for the fuel management it is a stock 88 turbo coupe la3 ecu but i am using an ebay fuel management unit and stock 35 pound injectors and a 255lph in tank pump

it has a stock 4cyl t5 with a 6 puck clutchnet clutch and stock shifter

it also has the factory 8 inck with 380 gears and minispool i set up at home with no proper tools, but i am about to probebly change to a 350 gear before i start spraying it a 75 shot and go to water methanol injection so i can get the boost up in the 30's

the car is stock wieght except for glass bumpers, and i am running hoosier quick time pros on the stock 14" steel wheels

i will be posting a video soon of one of my other runs soon ( 8.03) there are 3 videos of it on you tube and there is a thread on this site with a link to them

i would be happy to answer any other question

Why did you put a 4 cylinder in your car? That just doesn't make any sense to me.

well most people wouldn't have pulled a 302 out to put a 4 cyl in but a 302 wont get 30mpgs i drive the car 400 miles a week but how many 2.3 mavericks have you seen , alot of guys would be happy to run 8.0 in a v8 car on pump gas and drive it to the track

Because he could! It's called HOT RODDING. Same reason Gartlits took the engine from in front to the rear. Worked so well, most everyone did it. There is your answer, my friend.

I wouldnt have done it but I'm glad you did. I think it shows a lot of ingenuity and talent to put that package together. Gotta love those old 2.3's. People will really think its a Pinto now. :):)Except for the big honkin turbo of course.:thumbs2::thumbs2::thumbs2::thumbs2::thumbs2::thumbs2::thumbs2:

cUZ 2.3L Turbos are tough running engines. They put out the same or more HP than the 302 back in the day................
