2004 Mustang front passenger window motor swap question. Is regulator/motor rivited on or bolted on. If rivited can u bolt back on after replacing. I bought aftermarket motors only. Thanks for any help. Brian

according to the service manual, the motors can be serviced by removing the 3 bolts that retain it to the regulator. No mention of rivets unless you are removing the glass.

If the same as sn-95 than no should not have to remove the rivets.

ALSO if the same as sn-95 it might just be the plastic bushings and not the motor itself. Can you describe the problem? The bushing fix is less than $10.00

Basically if window goes all the way down its a major pain to get back up..if u can get a hold of it and pull it up it will work. Neither switch will raise it if all the way down.

A buddy said if dome light goes dim when you hit switch then motor is bad.. and that is what it does.

Sounds kinda like the same thing my windows did, and it was the bushings not the motor itself.

Mine would go down, but when trying to put back up it would make like a clicking sound and you would have to pull the window back up. New bushings and they work just fine now and have been for about a year or so already.

Not sure about the diming dome light, never heard that before.

The dome light trick is the eyeballs way of determining if the window motor is getting power and ground. The light dims when current passes through the motor but it does not turn, effectively shorting the circuit. If held long enough, it will trip the cycling circuit breaker inside the motor and then the light will get bright again when the circuit opens up.
