    Show Day (Hotel Parking Lot)

    9:00 AM-Noon Registration
    Noon-2:00 PM Judging
    3:00 PM Awards Ceremony

Saturday evening is free to do as you please. As always, there are plenty of good times to be had in the usual manner of hanging around in the parking lot, with each other at the hotel.

For those that are interested, there is the Telegraph Road (US 24) Car Cruise the day of the show. The cruise route on Telegraph Road stretches from Eureka Road in the city of Taylor, to the south, to Puritan Road in the city of Redford, to the north. This car cruise is an “active” cruise, where you have the opportunity to drive your car on the road in the cruise. This cruise is considered a “mini-Woodward Dream Cruise”.

    Sunday, July 29

There are opportunities to see the many sites in the city of Dearborn and surrounding areas. One place of note is in the city of Milford, MI, at Baker’s, for a Sunday car cruise-in. The address is 2025 S. Milford Road, Milford, MI 48381 (http://www.bakersofmilford.com/1/252/cruisin.asp). Those are some real cool pictures for the Fairlane Club of America (FCA) Nationals. I have been to several of their National shows. Always a great time with cool cars. Thanks for posting those. (y) I wasn't able to make it to the FCA Nationals that year. Just goes to show how much fun we will have. From looking over the fence last year, the test track is HUGE.

One word of advice. Don't take anything that runs hot at idle or at low speeds. It is really hot and they take you really slow, with quite a bit of idling time. You will notice all the hoods up in the group shot. I also recall one '69 Cobra pulled over on the test track with its hood up, apparently overheated. I have driven on it on two occassions. The only reason I went on it in '09 (the second time), was I had a friend fly in from California for it and he had not been on the track before.

Does your car have to be all fancy and restored to do this?
