Today after fixing the intake issue on my mav (the intake spacer bolt came off and the while carb assembly shifted causing major air fuel ratio issues [pix included]), I heard a weird around coming from the rear of the motor. Found out that the gasket around cyl #6 had broke and the rear half came completely off causing a big exhaust leak. Pic showing the gasket as it sits now, couldnt get a good pic of the broken part. That has now become my next project. I have a bunch of 6=8 Clifford Performance products on the car and it has headers. Any suggestions on what type of gasket to get? material, brand, etc?

i did not do the build of it so far. once i remove the heads i guess i will find out. the previous owner has done the 6=8 clifford performance upgrades, but am not sure if he welded in the divider. is that a must do? i do not have a welder and would need to get it done by a shop

The Summit - FelPro is a composite stock type gasket for a stock manifold porting but would not work on most headers with the tube port size.

The Amazon sourced (pricey) gasket claims to be soft carbon type and probably same as blown out one on your current setup. Hard carbon type seal well but may be more susceptible to blow out with the repeated expansion/contraction cycles than composite type..

    have fun
