351 cleaveland question

    hey i am working on a 351 cleavland and was wondering the rod bearing clearance.

    Peterson's Big Book (1979) gives a range of .0008" to .0026".

    Sorry this is the only book I have at the house.

    yeah it does i couldn't find it any where. i checked the internet and talked to a few parts stores and couldn't find it. thanks

    I don't know that it means much, but other non-Cleveland V8s are listed as .0008" to .0024" range. I don't know why the Cleveland has a slightly higher max clearance, but it does according to this particular book.

    If I had all my books handy, they just might narrow it down to a range that would make it easier to decide what to set it at... Then again, they might all say the exact same range of measure. :huh:

    Keep the clearance between .001 and .002" and you are good to go.
