351w to 302 tranny ?'s

    Ok, I have another question.....you guys are just to helpful!!! Ok, my question is, Is the flywheel from a 69 351w mustang toploader a bolt on to the 77 302. Do I need to have the flywheel rebalanced? I believe that it is a direct bolt on but I am not sure.

    Also, will a 302 c4 torque converter bolt up to a 351c flexplate? Balance problems??

    and lastly...for now, I have a new 3 spd floor shifter out of the maverick...I assume that it will not work with the toploader. Will it? I am new to manual trannys and still have a lot to learn.

    I THINK EVERY THING WILL WORK, BUT THE SHIFTER WILL NOT.SOME OF THE OTHER MEMBERS COULD TELL YOU BETTER THAN ME BUT I AM PRETTY SURE. PAUL

    Thanks, I didnt think it could be used. Its just nice and new so I thought it would be worth a shot.

    Actually, I am not sure the flywheel will work. The balance should be 28oz, just like the 302, but it may be too big.
