I have a 1977 four door Maverick. Except for the hood ( small area rusted through) the rest of the body is in very good condition. No dents or any other body damage at all. The interior is in fair condition the seats are in good shape,there is a rather large crack in the dash and the headliner is starting to sag a bit. the glass is good all the way around. Im going to pull the engine and transmission to put into a two door comet. Can someone give me an idea (ballpark figure) of a fair selling price for the four door minus the engine & transmission? :confused:
Well... It all depends on what somebody wants, not to many go out looking for a 4dr. to build up, so they are turned into daily drivers, but it being with out a motor and tranny, it takes that awya from being a daily becaseu then you would have to geta motor, and such, I paid 200 bucks for my running 75 with a 250, a/c power disc breaks. I live in Iowa, and it was rusted out pretty good, but savable, If your car was as good as your saying it was I'd give mabe 300, mabe not even that not trying to upset you or any thing just giving you and ballpark figure, but nobodya wants a 4dr. except me too bad I didn't have some extra $$ I'd buy it and save it to redo it the way I would of done with mine, like a 302, and all the goodies to go with it!! were do you live have photos, what was in the car, and what all did you take out of the bay??? For it being a 77 it should have a/c and power disc breaks, what did it have for a motor?? Jason
Hey 754dr thanks for the reply, I was beginning to wonder if my post was invisable . Not disapointed at all, I didnt figure it would bring more than $300. which coincidentally is what I need to buy a two door comet. It has a 250( yet to pull ) AC, power disc brakes. Everything is there. It was a daily driver up till about two years ago when my dad got a new truck & gave me the Mav. I dont have any photos at the moment but that shouldnt be too difficult to produce. I dont have a digital camera & our scanner is down but give me a week or so let me see what I can do about getting a few pics posted. Thanks again. JW

Yea not to may know of 4dr.s not too many care to know ither, they are parts cars, but the fact is the only weight 100 more than the 2 ( I think I read that some were) :confused: I would be willing to take it, but I have to get rid of one and catch up on bills, and thats even if you are close enough to me for me to get it.
