I may have a chance to pick up the drive line out of a 67 Mustang.
289, C-4 drive shaft and diff.

Anyone know what diff came in them ? Any chance it would be a 9" posi ?

Any idea on what to offer for it ? (I'm in Alberta Canada)

I have a picture if that would help ?

Very slim chance on the 9" with a small block. No chance at all being a Posi since a Posi is a GM product.

As far as I know Lockers and Trac Locs only came with K-code small blocks and big blocks. So unless the 289 is a HiPo...

I never heard of a HiPo coming with a C4...but then again back in the day if the buyer wanted an automatic then the dealer would/might do what ever they had to do to make a sale. I'm sure the Mustang would had sold hours later to another buyer so the dealer might not do a transmission swap to sale a Mustang unless money was to be made.

    I found out it isn't a 9".

Now I have to decide if I want the 289. Always liked that engine & wanting it for (mainly) that reason isn't a good reason.

Since I have another project on the go, it may be a bad idea anyway.

K code 289 engines did come with C4 automatics.

As far as I know, the only engines in a classic Mustang that did not come with automatic transmissions, were the Boss 302, Boss 429, and Boss 351.
