I'm just wanting to know what kind of speakers everyone is running in their Maverick / Comet. What brand, size, Watts etc... front and rear speakers.

    Thanks

2 6x9 pioneers in the back (dont recall the watts)
8in. rockford fosgate sub behind seat
200 watt amp under passenger seat
    cheap pioneer headunit

all this combined sounds very nice and is a bang for your buck..(y)

Two 6x9 Sony Xplode 4 way speakers in the back of the daily driver. I believe they were rated at 250 watts peak power. Two years, two cars, one wreck, and 55,000 miles later, they still sound pretty good but don't look as good as they used to.

I will be going with 6x9 Pioneer's in the '73.

Will you be going with the same amount of watts? 250 is plenty sufficient I would think?

That is exactly why I am going with the Pioneer's. I listened to the Pioneer's vs. the Xplod's side by side at Best Buys a while back, and prefer the sound of the Pioneer's. I also plan to mount the small universal speaker boxes under mine to give it a tighter sound.

You said the ones you have are 4-way, what ability or positive aspect do yours have over the 3-ways?

I honestly couldn't tell you. I'd try researching that on Google. The only reason I bought them at the time was because I liked the sound the most over the other speakers. That said, I prefer the sound of the 3 way Pioneer's.

Ok, I was just wondering. Sounds like I made the right choice then, since you're going with them as well.
