72 comet redo

    :hmmm: ok this is the plan,72 comet from tx nice body but needs floor pans i.ve got the int out orderd 18 gage 2 by 3 x 2 going to take to a fab guy to role me some pleats to keep the cookie sheets from ratalin , took off all the trim ground off all the studs bump a couple of places ill have the motor and trans out by next week end going to send 302 with 89000 miles short block out to rebuild shop and the tranny will be refreshed . im thinking of getting that edelbrock kit IE heads cam time gears and crane roller rockers . new lifters and push rods msd dist 6al and blaster and some headers plus all the other goodies that it takes paint myself wheels and tires re rap the seats and paint the int also boil and cream tank . any suggestions and will this combo hook up drive on street and bust some chevy chops no strip. ive got all the befor pics in a file and adding more dailey thank you in advance for your suggestions

    Sounds like a good starting point. That's how I put plans together to redo my 73 Comet. I went with the Holley Street Avenger 570cfm carb, bolted to an Edelbrock RPM performer intake. Did all your upgrades except for the heads. Put 3:55 gears in the 8" rearend, shiftkit in trans, with 2500rpm torque converter. Awesome street driver (driven daily in nice weather) & loves the 1/4 mile at least once a year....Keep us posted....
