I am in search of an original steering wheel for my 73 comet. If you happen to know where I could get one that would be great. Thanks.
Finding an original steering wheel in good shape is near impossible to find and pretty expensive you might want to go with after market or a Ford sport steering wheel as many others have done. But it never hurts to ask and if you have the ability to restore one then your good to go. Never hurts to check ebay out
It it possible for you to send me a link for the Ford sport steering wheels. I have tried a grant steering wheel and that didn't work out so it would be a huge help.
Here is one on ebay, this is about the going price for them. Some other fellow members may have one for sale or there is a member on here that restores them and sells them http://mmb.maverick.to/resources/ford-sport-steering-wheel-leather-new.232/ http://www.ebay.com/itm/ford-sport-...414159?ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT&_trksid=p205
Yes horn works and direct bolt in but beware if you buy one that you get the correct one as some that came out of later year Mustangs and other Ford cars had the horn on the turn signal stalk you can tell real easy by looking at the back as they will be flat across with no copper rings for horn contacts. You will probably need a steering wheel puller to get yours off
Th original 2 spoke steering wheel is reproduced now. They are available at Melvins Classic Ford Parts.
Brian is corrects as usual------page76 http://www.melvinsclassicfordparts.com/pdfs/maverick/Melvins_2017_Maverick_Catalog.pdf
