(More of a vent thread) I picked up a 91 5.0 convertible to drive till the mav is done then sell. I'm thinking the converter is locked up.

Just letting you know that an AOD is wedged into a 5.0... It just doesn't fall out. Having a decent cut on your right pointer finger that bleeds when you touch something doesn't help with hard to get to bolts..

Not uncommon for those aods to fail if the car was beat on any

The car will start and run well in neutral but the tranny makes a little noise. When put into R,2,1 it stops the motor from turning right now. In D it makes some noise but will move a little. My research show the converter to be the issue. I'm just hoping someone didn't try to run it or move it too many times.

I have a van AOD in the floor but there are some differences. The trans has been out recently. It is very clean, painted silver and has slight amounts of orange RTV poking out of places. I'm just hoping its not done for.
