I'm trying to figure the name out of a vacume device on the fire wall that has the heater core hoses running to it and a partial and full vacume lines. I believe it controls the flow of water to the heater core so the A/C can work better but I need a replacement part with a name. I'll bet it is covered in a book for some other Ford car but I don't have one for my MAV. Thanks for any help.

Its just called a heater control valve and is the one most often used with a car that has air conditioning. This type of valve has vacuum control functions that work with the a/c controls, to keep the hot water from the heater core when calling for air conditioning.. The cost is any where for 35-60 depending on where you buy it. Most Mav/Comets without air had no valve, although its not a hard rule.
