This thing's a beast.....I love the stripped down, mountain motor sport coupes from the 60's and 70's What could be as radical as a Hemi Dart?..... how about am A-FX Cammer Falcon http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/WILD...0488224?pt=US_Cars_Trucks&hash=item35ade144a0 Auction includes a couple of vids
I know that car, it's from here!! Rankin Ford was in London (now Highbury Ford) When I was an apprentice, we use to fix the Rankin's furnace. Ev Rowse, did the carb on my very first Maverick. He fixed ours vans where I was working back then. St.Thomas dragway, was the same track, I blew the C4 out of the same Maverick. (it's 1/2 an hour from here)
My friend's Dad (John M) was one half of the team that ran it; I'm sure he'd love to have it back....but at that price...wow... His son still has a ProStreet Falcon
My father-in-law had a '65 Falcon back in the day, which also had a Holman-Moody 427. He built the car himself, of course. Lots of people from here bought engines from them back then, since they are located around Charlotte, N.C. Alot of people have a Holman-Moody story. They just sold those engines to who ever wanted them, as rare as they are today. Back then they were just used surplus.
Yes I think it provided a sobering lesson as most of the crazy driving since has been at Grand Bend Motorplex or St Thomas
It's reached 30K, but not the reserve. I had no illusions it was going to go cheap. The old drag cars are going for premium prices of late, even with the lousy economy.
