hey guys i was trying to work on my daily drivers ac and i ran into some problems. I put a new ac drier on last night, i vacuumed the system down today and put freon in it. It calls for 1.41 pounds max. But no cold air, i put a set off gauges on it to see what t would read and this is what i got. Low side read 10 and high side read 140 with the car running. Which seems really low, any one have any ideas on how to trouble shoot this that would be great.
Did you replace the TXV/ orifice tube? If not that's where i'd start. I'll assume the refrigerant is r134a.
Correct its r134a. By any chance could you give me an idea of were it would be located. Is it normal inside the car, before the compressor after. Any input would be awesome, by the way its a 96 toyota tercel.
The orifice tube will be before the evaporator, normaly on the firewall, follow the line from the condenser to the firewall, and look for frost with it running & the ac on.
