I finished installing my AJE front end I got to try it out last night. It has a chromoly k-member, pinto manual steering rack, fox mustang spindles, wilwood brakes, and adjustable lower control arms. Thanks to 1BadMav on this board who sold it to me and Okibono for answering all my questions. It was a major job for me to do by myself. Picked up 2 tenths and 5 mph in the 1/8 and the steering felt great. I tried to keep it stock looking and haven't cut the shock towers yet cause I didn't really need to. Still used the stock shock tower braces too. Here's some pics.
Now this is a setup I would be interested in. I've seen similar in Mustangs. Is this a Maverick specific kit or has this been massaged and pieced together? More info... please!!
Great job. Please provide much info as possible on this. Cost? mods needed? where to get it from? Thanks
i cant find that k member anywhere, at least not on the aje website. is it a custo, order, who makes mav parts?
That cross member is the same one they use for the older mustangs, it just has different lenght control arms!!
AJE sells this as a kit. It is a new kit that you can order with different options. You can choose the spindle (fox or SN95 spindle), adjustable control arm, adjustable shocks, etc. It is basically like a fox body Mustang k-member and strut set up. There are some threads on here regarding this kit. There were several installation issues and it was somewhat difficult, but I bought it from 1BadMav who fixed a lot of the issues. The major issue is that the tie-rods on the rack steering had to be shortened. It was the most challenging job I've done on the car so far, but I'm happy I did it.
