Alt light tach conversion

    So I am doing the jmgford tach conversion. AS you can see the idiot lights are gone. The Alt light is its' own separate bulb attached to the dash harness. Can I remove the bulb from the socket or will that prevent the alternator from charging. I thought I heard somewhere it was needed to excite the alt.

    If the resistance wire in harness is in place the bulb won't make a difference...
