Hello everyone hoping I can get some help here.

My last alternator went out on me, replaced the alternator, belt, and removed all of the previous belt gunked up in the pullies. Below 2000 rpm I have no lights and checking at the battery and the alternator I am getting 13.5-14.5 volts. However above 2000-2100 rpm I am only getting 12.5-12.8 volts as I would normally get if the alternator was not running. Looking at it the alternator appears to be spinning. I had the alternator tested at two different spots to make sure it wasn't faulty. Is it possible that the belt is loose and needs to be tighter, and that is causing it to slip at a higher rpm or is it something else. If it is a loose belt any suggestions for tighting it. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thank you :)

Years ago I had the same problem . My charge light would come on and be dim and when I backed off it would go off . Turned out my regulater was poorly grounded . Ran a seperate ground wire and it went off and worked .
