I have came across 2 steering columns from floor shift cars, but they didn't seem right. My column shift has a leaver at the end of the column to shift the tranny. These 2 columns have the same leaver and when you move it back and fourth the collar turns? The collars look original (paint wise, not ground and filled) Can you help me out? There is a hole in the bottom of the column shift collar, and these other columns have the same hole. That hole isn't for a 3spd shifter is it? I'm stumped. Thanks guys

The lever is to put the column lock on when the floor shifter goes to Park. You have to be in Park to get the key out, and to lock the column when you get out.

Does a std. trans have the leaver too? Or are the columns different? Thanks for the input

The standard transmissions have the lever. They have to be put in reverse before the column will lock.
