Just wanted to find out how many other Mav owners are out here in the prairie provinces? And are any of you MCCI members? I've been considering getting a membership, but questioning how worthwhile it would be if there aren't too many other members nearby. I'm sure Craig would say it's still worth it anyhow
Im the Quebec state rep and only member and I love the news letters. You always learn something new and there is even a colour insert! Here is the club website: http://maverickcometclub.org/
Of course Comets count. I apologize Lightning,I wasn't trying to be elitist about Mav's in particular. Thanks Stefan, for your opinion of the newsletter. BTW I assume you're aware that Quebec isn't officially a state just yet, right? I think Bush will probably wait until after he gets the oil reserves in Iraq Anyhow I don't want to be responsible for starting any conspiracy theories here either, so I'd best keep my mouth, er, keyboard shut...
Don't let geography stop you from joining. You'll be surprised that you will find more Mav/Comet owners after a while in your province. That's exactly what happened to me here in Pennsylvania. Now, we are becoming one of the more active MCCI areas and hope to stay that way. Also, don't feel that you cannot cross the border to join in our events. Our last meet in August had visitors from Ontario, so the more the merrier. Maple leaves or stars and stripes, it doesn't matter. Right now, one of the main goals Russ and I have is to help the club grow and promote the MCCI in the general cruise community. We have been largely successful to date with bigger things in store for 2003. I can't speak for everybody else, but I'd sure love to see the MCCI grow within Canada also. I have family in Quebec and I travel to Ontario whenever I can. Get on board, dude! You''ll love it. We do!!!
Lightning - what part of the province are you in? I'm in Moose Jaw. And Wes, it's not so much crossing the border that affects me, although I must say I've had some difficulty doing so in the past. I'd love to travel down for the roundup, in particular. It's more the fact that I'm constantly kind of cash poor, partly from buying Mav parts
I live in Regina Unfortuneatly my Comet GT is not stock at all . I used to bracket race it in SIR from about 86 to 92. I have owned many of them . Some were gems and some were junk . This particular one I have now is the first one I owned and the only one now . I have had it for 20 years
That's impressive Lightning, to have had it for 20 yrs. Like, how many of the vehicles that are being cranked out now are even going to be worth owning in 20 yrs from now?! I wish I still had my first Mav, but I rolled it when I was young and particularly stupid...
hey maplemav, greetings from B.C., have met a few out here in B.C. and also know a guy up in Edmonton. bought a comet gt hood off of him. good to see mav fans out there in the prairies.
