I was looking to get a new muffler for my 200 Inline 6 on my 1970 mavierck. I know its an inline 6, and they sound nothing like a V8.. But if anyone has any thoughts on a muffler that might sound a bit louder (some people dont like loud, and im not looking for something insane, but just a tad louder / more raspy)

Its stock manifold, stock pipes and has a pretty toned down muffler at the moment... Not looking to do crazy work like a duel exhaust, Y Pipe etc... Just a new muffler thats a bit more... Tough sounding??

I was looking at a Thrush Glasspack, any other opinions would be amazing!!
    thanks!

We have a single inlet, dual outlet Flowmaster on my dad's '70 Maverick with the 200 six cylinder. The car has a very good sound and it isn't too loud. I'm sure a Flowmaster with a single inlet and single outlet would give you the increase in sound you are looking for.

Mine (250-6) has a single inlet/outlet 40 series Flowmaster. I typically hate the way a 6 cylinder (especially a V6) sounds with a turbo-style or glass pack muffler... but I love the way this car sounds.

I ended up getting a Thrush Glasspack, a 14 inch i believe. I love the sound of the Inline 6, and I think this exhaust brings out a nice tone in it. I dont drive with music (unless you count AM radio talk shows as music LOL) so i just end up listening to my exhaust / engine.

With the glasspack it is a bit drony overtime, espically highway speeds. But the idle sounds AWESOME!
200$ (Canadian) is what it cost me, got it done at a local shop!
