Every time i go to discount tire, someone cuts in line and always a mercedes or infinity. Regardless of if i have appointment or not, and other does not.

Do they have to pay a bit more to get put to the front of the line?

Those Mercedes customers are used to top notch sevice and having their butts wiped for them by the dealer. Its not their fault. They get programmed to expect preferential treatment. Its up to us normal folk to speak up and give them a reality check.:smash:

Could it be the cars are from a dealership service dept and they have a bulk buy from the tire store?

You can tell them that you have an appointment, and or that you were next in line. If they don't make it right, just tell them that you will take your business elsewhere, and they won't miss your little 3 to 4 hundred dollars. Honor the scheduel that is set, and the little man please! I bet there is more of us little guys that go there than there is of the extravagant ones. That is just :bs:

They were probably running an hour late for 'their' appointment, thus inconveniencing everyone else.

I live near that one, but no, I did this on my lunch break in Pearland.

I had just forked over $855 after talking him down from $885...

You would think I would get the preferential treatment. But, no, just a dumpy old pickup truck. Move that Infinity on in first.

It really does happen every time. I even made an appointment once, and it still took over 1.5 hours of waiting, and THREE mercedes got in before me, after arriving after me. (Serious, I am not making this up.)

ALso a lot of those perfromance type cars have specific OEM tire specs and sizes. Tires are huge money with a big fat mark up.

855 dollars for Scoopers truck may only be one tire on a Mercedes. Hell the Pilot sports that came factory on my 02 300M special were 800 each in 2002. And yes Michelin was the only option for a few years after the cars hit the road.

My wife just had two BFG All Terrains put on my pickup, 245/70/16- $165 EACH! I liked to have stroked! Last ones I put on, same size, two years ago, $110 each. Can't believe they have went up $55 in just two years. Looks like the Mav will get new tires from eBay...$108 each with free shipping....

All tires have taken a big jump in price the past year or so.
