Barry, how did you hook up the clutch cable from the stock maverick pedal to the T5 clutch fork? Thanks

I'm not running a cable. I have mechanical linkage and a bellhousing from a '66 Mustang.

well, i guess I'll put a little input in on this. I'm using the 3spd pedals with a 87-93 mustang clutch pedal.everything is working out, just finished putting it all in today, used aftermarket firewall adjuster, cable and quadrant.cut a nice circle in the firewall and run through, only thing I dont like about it is that the clutch pedal sits a little to high for my liking.

Will, do you mean that you are using the stock maverick 3spd clutch pedal and the mustang clutch fork?

No, I'm using the main pedal assembly for a 3spd mav, but the clutch pedal will come completely off, I got a clutch pedal from a mustang and used it with the mav pedal assembly.I'm using a stock mustang clutch fork though.

    Will, nice setup!!!

what kind of clutch are you running??

Clutch cable mal adjustments are very common!

WHen your clutch is adjusted properly with the setup you have (which is identical to that in my 86 gt mustang) your clutch pedal should sit right at about the same height as the brake pedal.

The t-5 tranny's, and pressure plate/etc are designed for constant pressure on the system. No need for cable slack.

If you push the clutch in, you can actually feel where it physically begins to disengage the engine, you will feel that around where the clutch pedal is equal with the brake pedal. Go ahead and turn that firewall adjuster until just before the actuall disengaging point. Just be sure that you are not always partially disengaging, and you will be good to go.

Good luck, and that will solve your clutch pedal height problem.

BTW, if you run out of adjustment with the firewall adjuster, upr.com sells a triple hook quadrant for $30 that will literally give you 2-3 inches more adjustment.

    Thanks, Jeremy!!

I think my problem is not having a pedal stop, but I'll check out that site.

    Thanks

I'm no so sure that their is a pedal stop, however, if there is, then the clutch will still be way too high against the stop. I run into a lot of stang people with the clutch pedal sitting wayyy high up (kinda like my brake pedal sits in comparison to the gas in my mav) tightening the cable will bring the clutch pedal down.

Just thought I would throw in that you would only need that triple hook quadrant if your firewall adjuster has run out of adjustment room.

By the way, my stock Maverick clutch pedal has a stop located between the pedal arm and the firewall. The bumper hits against the pedal support bracket. It keeps the clutch pedal about 1/4" lower than the brake pedal.
