What are the best upgrades for the 250. i can think of a few but would like to hear everyones opinions.

and no dropping in a 302 isnt an option!
although i do have a 302 that is in an 83ish (not positive) crown vic that is low milage. could it be a possible donor? if i were to swap motors out i would only take mainly the block and some other parts and build it up from there and make one sick street/strip mav. and yes with big bumpers :D

    Rob,

As far as the 250 goes, check out www.fordsix.com . . . these guys on this site love the Ford Inline Sixes. If that is what you are interested in, it should get going in the right direction.

    Good luck!

check with clifford performance, they can set you up with all the stuff you need for your 250.
your going to want the port divider, I would shave the head .060 for a slight compression bump, some porting wont hurt, upgrade the cam, split header and for intake you either have to use a carb adapter for adding a 2 barrel or else mill the head to use a set of sidedrafts(2 or 3 your preferance) otherwise your stuck due to the intake being ntegral with the head. this set up is similar to one I built years and years ago.ran great with a really unique sound

rob WHEN ARE YOU GONNA JON THE CLUB?????? uhhhh not for nuthin, remember that mods can affect emissions and as you know, the great garden state will fail you at inspection time so be careful before you dump a lot of money into mods only to find out you can't pass emissions. go figure. california, maybe the most screwed up state in the world right now doesn't require smogging your car ( i think) but new freakin jersey does! how bad is that?

Get a head from down under, Aussie heads have removable manifolds. Much more performance with their 2bbl head, and with some mods you can put on a crossflow head or just buy a complete crossflow engine.

no I wish I did but they did`t have any yet when I got it and I haven`t even put it in yet because my engin needs a rebiuld and there is no sence in doing that part twice . What I`m gonna do is find a nice dusty shelf to put my cam on and get one from fordsixparts :D . Slow comet is right about the head you can get one from there too . when you get a header you will need to get a port divider too or you will blow out the exhaust gasket . there is other stuff you can do that isn`t made for the 250 , the conrod bolts and main bolts are the same size as the 289/302 so you can use the ARP stuff there . You can get a new webber 32-36 carb (330 CFM) from www.cliffordperformance.com or you can go to the junk yard and get the carb off a 80s ford astrostar van wich is a H/W 5200 (270 CFM) both of them should pas the smog test . The 250 has the SBF bellhousing so a T5 5 speed tranny will bolt up as long as you use a '0' balance flywheel you can get a stock replacement here www.partsamerica.com ,or get a billet steel or an aluminum one from ram cluches if you get one from ram cluches get one for a 1986 - 1995 mustang 5.0 157 tooth
