I have some pictures below. I managed to dremel out the stock radio molding and the pioneer headunit bracket fits well. Now I'm trying to figure out the best way to mount the whole thing. Any suggestions?

The last picture shows how I was thinking about installing it. I wanted to place a small bracket under the headunit that would attach the headunit to the tray in the maverick. The image is the view from back of the headunit bracket sitting on top of the fabricated bracket on top of the package tray.

You can use the factory bracket that mounts to the windshield wiper motor bracket.

yeah, I've heard people talk about that magical bracket but it's missing from both my '71 cars. I'll look at the other '71, maybe I didn't look carefully. If not, any other suggestions?

I'll need one actually but not now. I ended up taking it from the other mav. When I go to fix that one up I'll need a replacement. Thanks though.
