Blowby Catch-Can Plumbing ? info appreciated - anecdotes and 'putta V8 innit' please refrain ... always with forced induction but also with HiPo engines crankcase evacuation or other means than PCV is needed for peak cylinder pressures. * need to install 'catch-can' on 250 Maverick - typical catch can uses side entry large filter vent on top. no room at typical top of VC PCV/Vent locations for catch can and filter vent - no clearance anywhere else under hood... currently runs two open vents on VC and large tube/vent from crankcase's mechanical fuel pump block-off plate. ignition side is busy and exhaust side heat limited. ** ? FOR CLEARANCE - CAN CATCH CAN BE LOWER THAN VC TOP PORT WITH CONNECTING HOSES DOWN TO CAN ? sorry for caps ... FP boss vent and SC return to Oil Pan ignition side VC - CK vents Maverick hood is lowest and 250 is tallest small block six.... open location by heater motor would have filter of can lower than VC ports. . . thanks
Run the vent hose from the front grommet location that you currently have a filter on to the can. The can should have a provision for the filter. If not run a hose out of the can and put the filter on it.
Catch Can Plumbing redux .. 3/4" tube to first can gets crankcase vent from FP blockoff, second gets VC gases, tested to @ 8-10 lbs boost so far . . . (orange thing is moisture filter on fuel tank vent) we'll see (literally) how it works out before I get fancy silicone tube.. hav e fun
