Practice, practice, practice...and remember...just because it's not red doesn't mean that it's not hot. Ask me how I know

Flux core is like using and arc welder, you get the pleasure of cleaning up slag after you weld. Use the gas!!!!

You cant weld with gas outside!....:slap: Well you can but it can be a pain if there is a breeze blowing and you are welding in your driveway, and that is depending on the direction of the wind, so if you do that you might want to look into some flux core for that. Otherwise if it is in a controlled wind free area that will not blow all of your shielding gas away then yes definitely get gas.:hmmm:

Oh and the Hobart is a good welder I have the big brother too it the handler 140 and I use the crap out of it.
Make sure you go down to your autorized Miller dealer and check out what gun you have. If yours is two or three years old you might have the old hobart gun that is kind of a pain to get parts for, If you do you might want to look at one of the Twecko replacement guns with a 8' or 12' lead, they are a couple hundred buck but they are worth it. (PS Miller owns Hobart in case you didnt know)

This is why they say commen sense isn't so common:hmmm:!!!! I open the garage door when I weld so it doesn't stink up the house. There's usually a nice breeze blowing that helps clear it out. Those are usually the times I have the most trouble with my work and not once did I consider the gas beeing useless in this situation. Oh well, I don't do too bad for an ametuer with a 110 Campbell Hausfeld.

I have a question. How come it will weld real good for like 2 seconds then it will like start sputtering. What is it that i can fix it. Maybe you can help me check off this problem.

Here are the 3 things i was thinking.
The ground isnt touching both peices of medal im welding.
The wire feed is to fast or to slow.
The medal im welding isnt clean.
