We are still working on the car and are going to have to replace the front and rear rubber brake lines. We want to go with braided line instead of rubber. The car has factory front disc and rear drum brakes. I need to know how long and wwhat size hose to get. I also need to know the part numbers for all of the adapters and fittings I will need. Thiswill include both front lines and the one rear line. Has anyone on this board ever done this and can help? Thanks guys.

    brake lines

Use a old brake line and get a old caliber fitting from the boneyard and with your wheels off the ground turn the wheels and check how much hose you need. Then find a local shop that'll make them up to a min of 1500# PSI 3000# is better. Hose shops aren't hard to find to do it. Just look for the industrial areas. They don't cost much either.

Thanks for the reply RR. Your method of doing it is correct and I appreciate the info. I just thought that there may be some of the canyon carvers around here that had already done this and they may have fitting part numbers that would help. I went ahead today and ordered the stuff that I think that will get the job done. When I get it all ironed out I will post on here what I find out. You are right also about the cost. The total cost should be about $20 more than replacing the rubber lines with more rubber lines and the braid looks good too. Thanks again RR.

It's all coming together. I need just a couple of more fittings.

When I put braided lines on my mustang (maverick/granada front disc) I bought them from mustangs plus they fit the calipers and the stock brackets with no adapters the same with the rear. I had to call them because they don't list them on their web site. They had them in stock, nice car BTW

Thanks Thomas. I figured there was an easier way to do this but, as usual, I have to go the more difficult route. I have done this with other cars and I really like the look unless it is a full on restoration.
