    Hello,

I need for my 1970 Mav with 4 lug new front brake hose. At rock auto I can not find it. Experience that fit the 1970 Mustang with 4 lug?

The 1970 Maverick hose is a 1 year only design - no other car used the same ends that the Maverick did. New parts are no longer made, but they do pop up from time to time on ebay. Used hoses are out there - you might want to try a wanted ad here in the forum classifieds.

If you have your old hoses. You can take them to a hydraulic hose repair shop and they can take your old ends and put them onto new hoses.

    Hope this helps ........ :)

You can also, change out the brake cylinder for a later one and replace the hose. I've done this before and it works.

That is a cool solution - do you by chance have part numbers from the swap? Was it just a matter of putting in like 1971 wheel cylinders and hoses?

Just find brake cylinders for a 71-73 and get the hoses. I think any year would do but, not sure.

if the hoses are rotten, there's a good chance the brake cylinders are, too.
i'd change them both. also check the brake shoes!

I'd replace the wheel cylinders anyway. Or at least look inside them.

It would had if the PO knew that you set the point's gap to .025 and not 0.25" that he set them at. But I think the Mustang gas tank would had fell out on the ground before he got to the stop sign. You know...some people don't need to be working on cars

I have now ordered from RockAuto 2 brake hoses and 2 wheel cylinder from model 1973. I have now discovered that the new brake hoses fitted well to the old wheel cylinder. Perhaps these have been replaced already times ....

    Regards Nils

I have the same problem with my 1970 with factory drums. I ordered the 1979 small 6 cylinder front brake lines and the 73 front wheel cylinders from Rock Auto. The problem is that the bent metal fitting that attaches to the frame and the curved banjo fitting that attaches to the back of the wheel cylinders is not on the 73 hose and therefore it does not reach the back of the wheel cylinder. Checking to see if someone has found a solution to the 1970 front brake line replacement.
    Thanks
