Can anyone tell me if 77 disc brake front brake lines are the same everywhere except for the length just before the hose connection as a 72 with drum brakes? The routing through the engine compartment on the passenger side is what I am wanting to find out about. I want to order all of the lines for the car from Right Stuff Detailing but there is no part number for 72 with front disc brakes.

72's did not come w/ disk brakes! Came later in 74 as I recall. Lot of people use Granada disk or aftermarket conversion.

I believe engine compartment routing is same. What's different is the nuts at ends of lines are different size at both master cylinder & caliper soft lines. Require either adapters or installing correct nut and reflairing. Found one adapter to be unobtainium, wound up using a mix of both when I converted my Comet to disc. Of course line connections vary by origin of parts, I used '69 Torino discs.

I put Granada/Monarch disc spindles on my 72 Comet and used the stock drum brake hard lines. I think the flex hose is specific to a disc brake Mav. I do not recall if the end needed a new fitting, probably did.

I would imagine the hard lines from the combination block to the wheel would route the same. Between the Master Cylinder and the block may be the same if non-power brakes. I ended up putting an adjustable proportioning valve in the mix because my rear tires were locking up too easy with my combination, 351 motor, and staggered tires.
Power brakes put the MC at a funny angle from the factory, I believe that was 76-77 only. It should be easy to get these short runs made locally.

I have 1976-1977 power disc brakes on my 1972. I also have all new stainless steel hardlines from The Right Stuff. Order their lines....they will work with what you are trying to do.

I figured they would work but thought someone on here would know. I ordered all of the lines from them this morning. The front lines end about 6" farther forward on the frame on a disc brake car unless you really put the hoses in a bind.
