Hi everyone, I have a 71 mav and it's got a bench seat. We all know that's not acceptable :). Do you guys have any recommendations of which bench seats to use (get them at a junkyard, buy them new, etc etc)?? The car won't need a rollcage or harnesses so I don't need racing seats. I'm just looking for something that looks good, is comfortable, and somewhat affordable.

i too have a 71 that had a bench..... i went to a wrecker and got buckets out of a 93 ranger pickup.. while i was there i found a maverick with ugly buckets and took the seat rails and bolted them to the ranger buckets.they fit great ,feel fabulous. the only thing is you sit about 1.5-2" lower than the bench, but you don't notice it after a while.. it worked for me!

I have a 73 in the for sale forum, and we used seats out of a 89 GT. Worked well for us and look pretty good! :)

i prefer bench seats.. more comfy.. like drivin around a big couch... as long as it's a split bench...

    he he he

If you use the car for 'extra curricular activities' like I do from time to time, the front bench is bigger than the back seat. :D

A 5 gallon is to tall so i would say one of the short 3 gallon would work good. I used a milk crate before too

    :D

we also use 89 Mustang GT seats. They are very comfortable, and fairly easy to install. See pic

yea, it was a "donation" from work...a '99 KX125 Kawasaki dirtbike piston. Welded an aluminum nut to the bottom of it, works great! The clearcoat is starting to come off though, oh well. Another project for another rainy day
