Hey guys, I have been looking through this site for a little while now and recently decided to become a member. I have been interested in Mavericks since I saw the first one back when I was 16....(Im 20 now)

Anyway, recently I decided to look around and think I may have found one that I will buy. I talked the guy down in price a bit but I would like to get some of your expert opinions before I make it final. I have until this Thurs. or Friday.

First off here is a link to it:

    http://desmoines.craigslist.org/cto/1491865633.html

And here is one thing that I would like to fix x-mediately...The first thing I notice from a distance is a badass machine that I want very badly to buy and turn into my own view of a monster. However, while getting closer and closer my eyes are diverted from the prize (so to speak) to the hideously thin set of stock tires and rims. They are just too small, don't seem beefy enough for this car by any meens...

So, how difficult is it to get a set of rims and tires that will still fit, but are much wider than stock? What needs to be done? I look forward to hearing from all of you. Where can I find these rims and what do you think is a fair price to pay?

Those look pretty nice and seem to be a decent price also to start...

Is there any difference between a 71 which you mentioned and the 76 I am looking at? I wouldn't think so....

And did you meen that you are personally going to test these rims on your car? That would be an excellent heads up for me. :thumbs2:

Matterick those are definately some rims I would consider...how much they run for a set and where can I get some?

The car I am looking at is a 200 I6...If I get it in the future I would be interested in doing a 302 swap.

The 76 has a 5 lug pattern and ask for 5 on 4 1/2 bolt pattern.. An 8" wide wheel with a 4 to 4 1/2 back space will work well..most people run a 15" wheel size.. The cragar is about 140 bucks each at summit racing...

have you checked Craigslist? i'd give that a try first cause shipping wheels is pretty expensive. you might try ebay also. what state are you in?

stick around here and soon enough you'll know quite a bit :thumbs2: the maverick your looking at will be a 5 lug car. the five lug cars have a bolt pattern of 4.5

now you'll either need that specific bolt pattern or uni-lug wheels :yup: if you find a set on craigslist or something, post a link to it in a new thread asking if they'll fit and somebody will be able to tell you :thumbs2:
