I'm looking at buying a '72 Grabber. It is an original Grabber with a 200 in-line 6. The brakes have been upgraded to '76 discs, and the body is in great shape, as is the interior. The only problem is that the c4 trans does not work in reverse. It runs thru all forward gears great, but in reverse it doesn't move at all. There is no grinding or any unusual noise while in reverse, it just won't move. Fluid is clean and full. I'm glad I found this site, and thanks for any help. Billy Miles Also, he's asking $3000.00 . Do you think it is worth it?
I had that happen to me in a different car with a C4 , the trans shop told me a band broke, it was still under warranty so they fixed it for free.
I would suspect the rear band either broke, the apply struts fell off, or the servo is leaking. Is it worth it? It is if you want it bad enough
