I was driving the car pretty hard one day just accelerating really hard and revving it to 5K driving around. After that there was a humming noise that I thought came from the tranny, maybe the rear end but more likely the tranny. Well then one night driving back from work on the freeway I hear this clunk*clunk*clunk that was coming from the engine/tranny area and the car was losing some power. I pull off the side of the road and turn the engine off. Then start it again and it wouldn't hold idle and turned off by itself. So car has been sitting since I haven't had time to work on it. In the meantime I'm leasing a car....I apologize in advance.

I can park another car behind it in my space!

And I can STILL go surfing with my 9'3" board

a smart... did you know this car was developed in a joint venture by mercedes benz and swatch, the watch brand? they have been pretty popular over here ever since. just a little expensive for what they offer, though.

There's are tons of those out here in Riverside, Justin Bieber bought one from the dealer my sister works at lol

They can keep up with traffic and gas milage must be great, the only thing I would be afraid of is being in a car accident. Especially with the drivers we have here in socal.

Mo, you ride a long board? I am more upset about that than you driving the little car.

I recently went from a 6'4" Rusty to a 6'6" Rusty Kompressor just because I got a bit fat when I hit 35 yrs old.

I still don't ride a log except on VERY small days.

    Shame, shame...:rofl2:

I understand, they only get in the 40's. My '86 VW Golf diesel, gets 43 mpg. I don't see what's so great about them. I would hate to be rear ended in one of those.

Theres about a half dozen of those smarts in town now. I think they're a little expensive for their size but someone told me theirs got 41 mpg driving regularly.

When your daily only gets 15, 40mpg is a godsend!

I'm looking to replace the Tbird, I love it but the gas intake is getting to be too much.

I'd love to get 40mpg with a car. My 15 isnt cutting it at all.

:rofl2::rofl2::rofl2: Great mileage ? :rofl2::rofl2::rofl2: There are other cars on the road today that get better mileage and weigh twice as much. And THEY get in the 40's with regular unleaded, not premium like the Smart car requires. My sis in law has one, she's got to drive it all the way to "Nawlins" to get it serviced (300 mile round trip) I can load it in the bed of my 99 SD F250 and still get 20 mpg.:D Smart Car ? The name hardly fits the car. They should just call it the "Gnome-mobile" :drive:

my wife laughs uncontrollably whenever she sees one...

she took a picture of her Expedition in a parking space beside one and it only came to the back of the front door. Then I got a laugh when the 350lb dude shoehorned himself into the drivers seat.:mg:

OK can she explain it to my wife. I giggle every time I see one and my wife thinks Im nuts. I have no idea why but they make my laugh.

As for the car. I have a friend who has driven one for a few years now. He loves it. Hes gotta be pushin 300 pounds and fits no problem.
You can buy them pretty cheap up here now used. Less money than a diesel VW around here for sure.
Seeing a lot of Fiat 500's lately too.
