any opinions on floor jacks from H.b... thinking of picking one up this weekend with a coupon out of a car craft magazine for a $99 jack going for $60. its a 3000 pound floor jack that should be ok for a maverick right? how much did a v8 maverick weigh? they also have some heavy duty jacks for about $70 so i gotta make up my mind.

anyone have any problems with jacks from h.b.? i know its not the best quality but im only gona use a floor jack a few times a year.

I've had pretty good luck with them. The ones I've had a problem with are the ones that are lightweight aluminum. Remember, don't get under a car with only the floor jack. Make sure you also have some jackstands. The heavier Mavericks are in the 3000 range. But, you aren't lifting all the weight at 1 time.:)

I have two of them. Had one for a year, the other for three years. I used them frequently for everything from brake work to transmission swaps, from Saturns to E150s. The only problem I've had was I had to replace a cotterpin on one and a C-clip on the other. I wouldn't say I use them every day, but every week at least, sometimes several times. Never even had to top off the fluid.

I've had luck with all from Harbor! Well, not excited about the electric power tools,,, no power.

Got 2 jacks from Harbor, like them both! I do stay away from the single pumps, or whatever they call them, a lot of jacks from all companies are going that way! First pump is great to get jack to frame, then you jack like heck to raise car.
