My dad put an edelbrock performer intake on a 400 ford in his truck. When it had the stock intake and 2 barrell carb it ran fine. Right now it has a 80457 holley on it and we can't get it to run decent at all. He was wanting to know if they make an adapter to put a 2 barrell motorcraft carb on a square bore intake. thanks
When I first got my maverick it had a motorcraft 2bbl on a performer 289 intake using this adapter: http://mmb.maverick.to/showthread.php?t=83538 I have the measurements on that page so you can measure the spreadbore intake. I believe this adapter is the same: http://www.summitracing.com/parts/MRG-1933/ Now that one doesn't say spreadbore, so all you'd need is a spreadbore to squarebore adapter plate like this: http://www.summitracing.com/parts/EDL-2732/
The holley has an electric choke on it and its not hooked up, the butterfly in the top of the carb is straight up. The best I can compare it to is a lawnmower with the choke on
