I did a swap on a chevy awhile back and it had a cable that i just moved onto the floor shifter and wala it was done. So I decided to do the same thing to my mavrick, only when I looked, there was no cable. It has alot of mechanical stuff insted. How do I do this swap on the mavrick? I was thinking I would do it now while i still have the motor pulled.

Good question!! I wonder if anyone even has a shifter for a 3 spd on the floor. The link i have provided below was helpful when I was needing a new shifter for my early toploader that I have in my car. Check it out..........

also you could check the boneyards for a factory setup,, my car had a 3 spd on the floor originally, still have all the stuff stored away,, didnt even have 5k on it when i switched it.

I changed mine to floor shift when i did an engine swap. What you need is a tail housing off a floor shift transmission. I got mine from an old mustang of the 60's. The trans mount might change however. this is where you get creative and create your own addaptation. Otherwise they sell shifter relocator kits. but i discourage this as it throughs the shifter to the side of the cars "hump" inside and is ugly!!!
