    Hi,
This is my first time on any site so if I get it wrong you'll why.
    I have a 1973 Maverick 200 that I have driven since 1981.
I have a couple of questions that may sound stupid to some of you guys but here goes.
1st: When I'm stopped at a light with the lights on, the turn signals slow way down. Is there something I can do About this?

2nd: I have put three clutchs in the car over 26 years. I just put another one in and I have to push the clutch all the way to the floor before I can get it in gear. I have the adjusting rod all the way out. Is it possible I have the clutch plate in backwards? If yes what will happen if I leave it that way?
    Thanks / wapatoe

Hello,You have come to the right place,Welcome.Dont worry about being a first timer,Plenty here that will help you along. As far as your lights go,you may have a bad ground,a weak flasher fuse or a charging circuit problem.I would think bad ground connection most likely, considering the age of you car.As for the clutch. You really cant put em in backwards. Its possible your clutch release fork mount in the bell housing is loose or bent, same for the clutch release fork itself. Its also possible your throwout bearing is installed improperly or partially un hooked from the fork.It could also be the wrong pressure plate for the application(too short) and its not dis-engageing properly due to a lack of travel in the diaphragm spring or forks. Its also possible that your clutch adjusment is incorrect or the equalizer bar is bent/cracked somewhere along its length.Hope this helps and hang out a while whatever I missed you will get from the others on here. The people here are a wealth of information.
